Why Choose Our Limestone Paving Slabs?
Timeless Natural Beauty
Limestone is prized for its warm tones and natural character, and has been used in construction and landscaping for centuries. Its subtle variations in colour and texture create an elegant, authentic finish that suits both traditional and modern outdoor spaces.
Exceptional Durability
Built to last, limestone paving is highly resilient and performs well in busy outdoor environments. With proper installation and simple maintenance, your paving can retain its appearance and performance for many years.
High Strength for Heavy Use
Limestone is a dense, robust stone capable of handling frequent foot traffic and, in suitable thicknesses and installations, vehicle loads, making it a dependable option for patios, pathways, and even driveways!
Natural Slip Resistance
Available in riven or acid-etched finishes, limestone paving provides a textured surface that improves grip underfoot, helping to make it a safe choice for family gardens and high-traffic areas.
Suitable for the British Climate
Limestone offers good resistance to the elements and performs reliably in wet weather when properly sealed and installed, making it well-suited to the UK’s damp outdoor conditions.

Please read our delivery information, or contact us if you have any other delivery-related queries.
How many paving slabs do I need?
Start by measuring your patio or whatever area that you are paving and calculate how much paving will be required. To calculate this, simply multiply the length by the width of the proposed patio area.
For example: if your proposed area is 8-metre in length and 10-metre in width, the measurement of this space is 80 square metres. If you are purchasing paving slabs by square metres, then you will need 80 paving slabs.
Minster Tip: We recommend adding 10% to the total amount of pavers you intend to purchase, this will account for any broken slabs and any that need to be cut to fit corners etc.
Can I install limestone paving myself?
While DIY installation is possible, limestone paving requires precision, proper base preparation, and correct sealing to ensure longevity and appearance. While of course, you can install your new paving yourself, we recommend professional installation to achieve the best results.
What materials do I need to lay paving?
You will need hardcore, also known as type 1, for the base, as well as a mortar bed made up of sand and cement. Primer is also useful for the back of the paving; this helps the paving adhere to the mortar bed, helping to ensure no rocking paving in the future. You will also need to think about jointing compounds for the joints as a finishing touch.
Can I use limestone paving slabs for my driveway?
Yes, you can use limestone paving for your driveway. It is an incredibly strong and durable blog paving material that can stand the weight of vehicles and has a naturally textured surface, which makes it slip-resistant when wet.
How long does limestone paving last?
With proper installation and maintenance, limestone paving can last for decades. Its strength and weather resistance make it one of the most durable paving options available. To increase its longevity, aim to use pH-neutral cleaning products since acidic cleaners can damage limestone.
Is limestone paving slippery when wet?
Limestone has a naturally textured surface, which provides good slip resistance. However, like any stone surface, it can become slippery in wet conditions if not treated properly. Sealing the stone and using a slip-resistant finish can help improve safety.
How do you clean limestone paving slabs?
Before we get started, remember to only use bleach on natural stone slabs, not man-made or concrete, as bleach may cause fading.
And remember to wear gloves and protective clothing, and to keep bleach away from plants, pets, and children.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Mix the bleach solution by combining 5 parts water to 1 part bleach in a watering can.
- Apply evenly across the patio surface, being careful not to splash on grass, flowers, soil, or yourself.
- Use a hard-bristled brush to scrub the slabs. You should see a white foam form as the bleach activates.
- Allow the bleach to soak for 15 minutes to break down moss, algae, and dirt.
- Rinse thoroughly using clean water, ensuring no bleach residue remains on the surface or the surrounding garden.
- Let the patio dry completely before placing furniture or walking on it.

Can I come to look at the paving before I buy?
Yes, please do! We have a display here in Standlake in Oxfordshire with all the ranges we sell on display, either laid on the floor or on boards. We are more than happy to show you around and explain which ones are which. Additionally, we will happily send samples out, to ensure our stone is what you need.
