MDPE (Medium duty polyethylene) blue water pipes are used to provide clean or potable drinking water to properties from the distribution mains. The system is suitable for use with cold water (maximum temperature 20ºC) with a working pressure of up to 12.5 bar and are non UV stable and therefore need to be installed below ground (or for use above ground placed in protective ducts). We currently stock 20mm, 25mm and 32mm in 50m coils with 100m coils and 50mm & 63mm pipe available as special orders. Generally a much larger pipe is used for the main line and a smaller domestic supply pipe is used to carry clean drinking water to the household
We stock couplers, elbows, tees and liners for the three sizes with other fittings available to order. We can also offer Barrier pipe which has an inner aluminium core protecting the incoming water supply from any contaminates that might be present in previously contaminated land that has been built on and black MDPE water pipes that are used to transport and provide grey or dirty water in many industrial and agricultural applications. When installed below ground these systems are normally used to irrigate agricultural land. The black water pipe is UV stable and can be utilised above ground providing a very quick and effective way of carrying water without the need to bury the pipe.
